CL65 Burnham Overy Staithe
Ownership of the 77 acres of Overy Marsh and half of the island was vested, as the evidence shows, in Burnham Overy Parish Council. However, in 2012 Holkham Estate decided to register this area of CL65 to themselves and, despite all parties being provided with definitive evidence for correct ownership, Burnham Overy Parish Council has refused to challenge Holkham Estate. Meanwhile, Holkham Estate continues to lease out parts of the common, which it does not own, to Burnham Overy Harbour Trust. The evidence for ownership is presented here below:
